Great Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath believes that Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action is the reason for his injury. McGrath said Bumrah is needed in the off-season because his bowling action can make him more injured.
Bumrah may be out of cricket for a long time due to a back surgery in March 2023. He missed the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia as well as the 2023 IPL.
Speaking to the media at MRF Pace Foundation, McGrath said, Bumrah needs a break from the season because he is giving full effort in every ball. They need a break. If he continues to play, given the amount of pressure put on his bowling action, he is bound to get injured, as he has done in the past.
McGrath said that when Bumrah comes into the crease while taking the last two steps during the bowling action, his speed increases, and from here his ball speed increases.
Due to better right-handed armour, India did not need a left-handed bowler – McGrath
McGrath said that due to the presence of right-arm fast bowlers, India were not forced to look for a left-arm bowler. He said, Indian fast bowling has been fixed for a long time and there has been no major change in it. The way Mohammed Shami, Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav have performed well. When he retires, the Indian team will think about fast bowling.
With so many good right arm bowlers, we haven’t seen a left arm Indian fast bowler in recent times.
Jasprit Bumrah has taken a total of 145 wickets in 120 matches played in IPL.
There will be no pressure on Starc-Cummins because of price
Mac Starc decided not to come to IPL due to personal reasons. But he came back with the highest price ever, they must have been waiting for him. Bowlers need to work harder in T-20 – McGrath
McGrath believes that the responsibility of doing something new in T-20 and maintaining the balance of the game with the batsmen is on the bowlers. Favors T-20 batsmen.
