GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in the Arunachal Pradesh elections, securing an impressive 46 out of 60 assembly seats.

This overwhelming victory ensures the continued rule of the BJP in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Pema Khandu for a third consecutive term.

The BJP’s success was evident early on, with the party already securing 10 seats unopposed, including CM Pema Khandu’s victory from Muktu seat.

Compared to the 2019 polls in which the BJP won 41 seats, this year’s mandate reflects a significant increase in voter support.

While the Congress managed to win one seat in Bamang, the National People’s Party (NPEP) secured five seats, and three independent candidates emerged victorious.

The remaining seats were hotly contested, with a total of 133 candidates vying for victory in 50 assembly constituencies.

Expressing his gratitude to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu hailed the historic event, emphasizing the overwhelming mandate in favor of the BJP. He noted that the momentum of this victory will reverberate across the country, with the BJP poised to perform well in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on June 4.

The BJP’s landslide victory underscores the party’s growing influence in the region and reaffirms its position as the dominant political force in Arunachal Pradesh. With a renewed mandate, the BJP is all set to continue its developmental agenda and the government’s initiatives for the prosperity and progress of the country.
