BJP leader Srikanth Tyagi, a resident of Grand Omaks Society located in Sector-93B of Phase-II police station area, got into an argument with women on Friday over planting some saplings. When the women accused the BJP leader of grabbing the land by planting saplings, Srikanth abused and threatened a woman. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the police registered a case of rape against the accused leader and started an investigation.
The women of the community alleged that the BJP leader tried to encroach on the space by planting saplings in a show of authority. When the women stopped him, he assaulted a woman and abused her severely. She was threatened when her husband intervened. Following this, other women from the community joined the protest. Regardless, the accused threatened the woman and said, ‘If you touch the plants, I will touch you.’ After this, women’s dissatisfaction increased.
At the same time, the people of the community uprooted all the plants and threw them away. The argument in the community lasted for about 4 hours. Meanwhile, the video of the incident went viral in no time. Following this, the townspeople began to vent their anger against the criminals. People ACHIed their displeasure over various comments on social media.
BJP has done away with it
On the other hand, the BJP refused to accept Srikanth Tyagi as a member of the party. Rajkumar Sahar, BJP Kisan Morcha national leader and Fatehpur Sigri MP, said Srikanth Tyagi was not a member of the national executive committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kisan Morcha. Neither is the youth group of the Kisan Morcha. The government should take appropriate legal action against those who behave indecently with women.

After learning of the viral video, Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal also ACHIed her displeasure and demanded strict action from the Noida Police. Following this, the police registered a case of rape against the accused leader.
