Deputy Director Minerals Manish Palewar said that in the mineral case registered against the sand mafia on May 14 and 15, Additional Collector Rajiv Nandan Srivastava resolved the cases by holding a speedy hearing. Under Rule 18 (6) of the Madhya Pradesh Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules 2022, a fine of Rs 1 billion 37 crore has been imposed in a total of four cases and under Rule 22, 2 Pokland and 1 JCB worth Rs 1 crore 25 lakh taken. An Additional Collector has decided that if the sand mafia does not deposit the penalty imposed within 7 days, then under the provision of Madhya Pradesh Land Revenue Code 1959, the movable and immovable property of the sand mafia will be attached and the penalty imposed is recovered. as the outstanding land revenue.

A fine is collected from these people
Ankur alias Rinku Rathore, a resident of Shahpur and Arshad Qureshi, a resident of Shahpur, have been fined Rs 53 crore 10 lakh 60 thousand in the case of illegal mining in Gurgunda. While in the case of Dendu Pura, a fine of Rs 82 crore, 95 lakh 75 thousand has been imposed on both of them. In another case of Dedu Pura, a penalty of Rs 52 lakh 50 thousand has been imposed on Arshad and Rinku. While in the case of smuggled goods, a fine of Rs 18 lakh 90 thousand was imposed on Deepesh Patel, Ravindra Chauhan, Mahendra Dhakad, Mohammad Ilyas.

The police investigation will proceed separately
Additional Collector has clarified in his order that Betul District Assistant Mining Officer lodged FIR in three cases in Shahpur and Chopna police stations regarding illegal mining of minerals. As the imposition of punishment under Mineral Rules by the Additional Collector Court and the hearing of the category of offense registered in the FIR in the competent court are two different processes and jurisdiction, in such a situation, the Additional Collector Court should not impose punishment in the competent court. the police investigation or other court proceedings will not be affected.
