Yes, this fort you are looking at is the fort that gave birth to the city of Bangalore. Next to the Victoria Hospital in Tarugapet, the heart of Bangalore, this fort was built in 1537 by Bangalore builder Kempegowda in mud and bricks.

To build a new city like Vijayanagara, Kempegowda started construction of a fort in the existing KR Market to provide wide road, market and residential facilities and completed it.

But when the fort came under the control of Hyder Ali in 1761, the brick and mud fort was turned into a stone fort. Unfortunately, after 20 years Bangalore Fort fell to the British. History says that the entire fort was demolished and rebuilt by the British.
