New Delhi: Several Bangladeshi workers died in the fire in Kuwait. The body will be brought to India today under the supervision of the Ministry of External Affairs. The bodies of the workers will be transported from Kuwait to Delhi and from there to Kolkata. At least 40 Indian workers died in this incident. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet said how many of them are Bengalis. Yesterday, Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is worried about the Kuwait incident. He ordered a search for Bengali workers there. He instructed to contact the Ministry of External Affairs, the Chief Secretary and the Resident Commissioner. Mamata Banerjee has already expressed her condolences by posting on social media.

Yesterday, Wednesday, a high fire broke out in the Mongof area, Kuwait. About 160 workers lived in that high-rise. First, a fire started in the kitchen of the multi-storey building, then spread to the whole multi-storey building. Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah visited the scene. He blamed the greed of construction businessmen for this incident.
The multi-storey that was burnt was an Indian labor camp. 40 Indians have died. Another 50 people were injured. There is no definite information as to how many Bengalis were among the 40 people.
