A female official in China has been sentenced to 13 years in prison and a fine of one million yuan (about ₹ 1.18 crore) for misconduct. According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Zhong Yang, who was nicknamed the ‘Beautiful Governor’ because of his looks, is the Governor and Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party of China and served as the Undersecretary of Qiannan of Guizhou Province.

She is accused of having sexual relations with 58 male subordinates and accepting nearly 60 million yuan in bribes. 52-year-old Zhang Yang joined the Communist Party at the age of 22. He eventually rose to the position of Deputy Secretary in the National People’s Congress (NPC). Zhang became famous for starting the Fruit and Agriculture Association with the aim of helping farmers.
