Bardhaman News | The residents of Memari Village in East Burdwan have piled rice on the street! Villagers are shocked to see the incident – News18 Bangla

There is no water in the land. But the road is so bad that it is full of potholes. So the residents plowed rice on that bad road. In a village of Memari in East Burdwan, the residents have come together to demand the repair of the dilapidated road.

11 years pass. The road has not been renovated. When it rains, the traffic on this road stops. The length of the road is 3 and a half kilometers. Anganwadi center, primACHI school is located on this road. The villagers protested to demand immediate repair of the road. On Friday, residents of Kashiara village in Gopagantar 2 panchayat in Memari 1 block of East Burdwan joined the protest by planting paddy trees on the dilapidated road. More than 40 families of the village use this road. Residents have threatened to boycott panchayat polls if the road is not repaired.

Residents of this village said that the entire road from inside the village to the cold storage is bad. Sending children to school is a worry. Apart from this, one has to face extreme problems in taking the patient. Despite repeatedly informing the local administration, no action was taken. I will boycott the vote if this road is not repaired immediately.

Anjana Mallick, village panchayat chief of Gopaganta 2, said the road is more than 3 km long. The money required to pave such a large road is beyond the panchayat’s capacity. A proposal has been sent to the district administration for the construction of this road. Many small roads of that village have been repaired. The work of this road will be done if the approval is given at the district level.
