Guwahati: Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was officially reopened for the 2024-25 tourism season on Tuesday, October 1. The reopening ceremony was held on the park’s western ridge at Baguri, marking the start of a new season for one of the iconic wildlife destinations. most in the world.

Assam Environment and Forests Minister Chandra Mohan Patwari took to social media platform X to announce the re-opening, stating “It is an honor to officially re-open the world-renowned Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve for the new tourism season today at a program in the Western Range, Baguri.”

The event was attended by several key officials including Assam Cabinet Ministers Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta, and Kaziranga MP Kamachya Tasa.

Kaziranga National Park is known for its rich biodiversity, which includes species such as the famous one-horned rhinoceros, tigers, elephants and a variety of bird species. The park is a global destination for nature lovers, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts.
