NEW DELHI: CM Arvind Kejriwal approached the Supreme Court against the Delhi Court’s order granting bail last Thursday and bringing a stay on it the next day. The Supreme Court has expressed surprise after observing the case. It is felt that what is happening is not normal. In addition, the Supreme Court rejected Kejriwal’s plea to quash the High Court’s interim injunction.
The court set the next hearing for Wednesday. The Delhi High Court is expected to deliver its full verdict on Tuesday. The Supreme Court said that it is not right to intervene when the High Court has reserved its judgment.

Kejriwal has approached the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court’s stay on his bail in the corruption case related to the liquor policy case pending the hearing of the Enforcement Directorate’s application.
Hours before Kejriwal was released from Tihar jail on bail on Friday, the investigating agency challenged the bail order in court. Challenging the trial court’s bail order for an urgent hearing before a bench of Justices Sudhir Kumar Jain and Ravinder Dudeja, the ED referred his petition. The High Court said that no action will be taken in accordance with the order of the trial court until the petition is heard.

What is the cause?
Supreme Court granted 21 days interim bail for Lok Sabha election campaign. Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar Jail on June 2 after the interim bail expired. ED arrests Kejriwal on charges of money laundering in formulating Delhi’s liquor policy. The ED alleged that Kejriwal, who was an AAP convenor, used money received from liquor dealers for the party’s campaign in Goa.
