Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accused a police officer of misconduct during his appearance at the Rouse Avenue Court on March 22. Kejriwal said that when he was brought to court, Assistant Commissioner of Police AK Singh had misbehaved with him.
Kejriwal has filed a petition in Rouse Avenue Court. He demanded that the court remove Assistant Commissioner of Police AK Singh from the security squad. After this the court ordered that the CCTV footage be kept safe. Kejriwal said that Singh also pulled former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia by his collar during his appearance in the court on May 24, 2023.
ED had arrested Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. On March 22, he was produced by the investigating agency at Rouse Avenue Court. ED told the court that Kejriwal is the backbone of the liquor policy case. After a 3-hour hearing, the court ordered him to be sent on ED remand till March 28. Kejriwal is the first person to be arrested while a Prime Minister.
On May 24, 2023, Manish Sisodia was pulled by his collar during his court appearance.
The police said – the allegations are false
A video of the scuffle with Manish Sisodia had also surfaced. It is seen that the police officer is holding his collar and taking him towards the courtroom. Sisodia had also complained about this. The Delhi police had said that action was necessary for security. It was against the law for any accused to make a statement to the media.
