A large number of plainclothes police were also deployed. The Police Bike Patrol Team and the Police Women’s Winners Team were also deployed in sufficient numbers in the city. But the police arrested 305 people for indecent behaviour. Many illegal drinks were also seized. Police confiscated around 47 liters of illegal liquor in total.
It should be noted that on the occasion of Dola Yatra and Holi, Kolkata Police has organized extra vigil across the city on Monday and Tuesday. Police forces were deployed at all important junctions in the city to prevent any untoward behaviour. The police PCR vans have gone around different parts of the city. Dedar was seen driving under the influence of alcohol. On the other hand, a young man died in Bay Udalpool on Monday afternoon by riding a bicycle recklessly.
Initially, it was assumed that the bike was being driven under the influence of alcohol. That is why it is assumed to be an accident due to loss of control of the bike. Normal traffic was disrupted for a time due to the bike accident in Udalpool. Later, however, the situation returned to normal.
