Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Amaravati on Thursday. He examined the greenfield capital city project he supported.

The Amaravati capital city project was pending for five years (2019 to 2024) under the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government. However, with the change of government, Naidu breathed new life into the capital city project.

This is the first time Prime Minister Naidu is visiting Amravati after assuming office for the fourth term. He inspected many construction projects viz. Naidu also inspected the residences for officials, members of the Knesset, judges and High Court, secretaries and other construction sites.

“Will publish a white book on Amaravati”

During a press conference, the Prime Minister said, I went to take stock of the situation and what to do. We will release a white paper on Amaravati with all the details. Municipal Minister P Narayan and senior officials were also present with him at the press conference.

“…the road infrastructure was ready by now”

Naidu further said that if the Amaravati city project had gone ahead as planned, the road infrastructure would have been ready by now. According to him, about 55 thousand dunams of land are available in Amravati from all sources. Naidu thanked the farmers for donating their land for the capital city of Greenfield.

“An incompetent person led the country for five years”

Naidu said, Today I inspected Amaravati area. Farmers have been agitating in the capital region of Amaravati for more than 1300 days demanding that Amaravati be made the capital city. After Telugu Desam Party came to power they felt that justice was done and they stopped the movement. Amaravati is the capital of the state. The previous government neglected Amravati and left it to its own devices. An incompetent person has led the country for the past five years.
