Now it is known that a team of Indian archeology experts, while doing their usual conservation work in Maharashtra, accidentally discovered a site that could be the site of an ancient Shiva temple.

Discover the original Shiva temple
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has discovered the foundation of a Lord Shiva temple in Maharashtra’s Nanded district during its routine conservation work. ASI discovered the site while clearing debris near a Shiva temple that was not being renovated.

In a significant archaeological discovery, the foundation of a temple of Lord Shiva was discovered during conservation work at Hottal village in Nanded district, an official of the Archaeological Survey of India said.

Mention of the donor’s contribution in the inscription
Hottal village in Nanded district is an area of ​​historical interest where some inscriptions were found in the past. After all, Hottal village is famous for Chalukya era temples. One of the officers of the department said that three stone inscriptions have been found in the village which mention the donations of donors who helped to build these temples around 1070 AD.

Kalyani, the capital of the Chalukyas, is famous for its temple decorated with elaborate sculptures. So it cannot be wrong that this area is also historically important.

As part of the ongoing conservation work in some of these historic temples, a team of officers from the Department of Archeology were clearing debris near the temple that was being restored. In this case the base of the temple was traced.

“Four trenches were dug to locate the structure and the base of the Shiva temple along with Shivalinga was revealed. Besides, we found a significant number of bricks, which shows that bricks were used in the construction of this temple,” Amol Gote, in-charge of the Nanded division of the state archaeological department, told PTI.

Several disclosures have already been made in India. It can be noticed that inscriptions are found in some places while statues are found in some places.
