The fire started in the old Airth Castle Hotel building, but there are no reports of injuries.

We are currently tackling a well developed fire within an old derelict two storey building in Bearth.

Four fire engines remain at the scene. after six starters and a high reach vehicle were dispatched to the event.
Nearby residents have been told that some of the water supply could be reduced while the emergency services continue to deal with the fire.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are still in attendance at a fire within an old dilapidated two-storey building in Airth, Falkirk.
“Four machines are still at the scene after the initial call came in just after 1am on Monday, September 23.
“There are no reports of any injuries and at the moment there is no threat to the local community.
“Nearby residents may have seen an impact on water supplies as we need higher levels of water to help tackle the fire.
“We will remain at the scene until the incident is safely over.”
The former hotel, which used to serve as a popular wedding venue, closed last year
The operators voluntarily ceased trading in March 2023, losing 26 full-time staff and a number of part-time workers. However, they faced a backlash from locals and people who had booked their wedding at the venue, with some claiming they had received no warning.

The operating company blamed the Covid pandemic and rising energy bills for the decision to fold.
Ever since closing, the venue has been plagued by incidents of anti-social behavior and arson, and vandalism.
In May this year there was the latest fire in the disused building, which led to the Police increasing their efforts to monitor the area and put an end to the deliberate damage.
Posting on social media in May, they said: “We want to update you on recent safety and security developments in our area.
“Due to reported crime, including break-ins, arson, damage, and anti-social behaviour, our dedicated police officers have increased patrols around Airth Castle and Hotel.”
Police Scotland have been approached for further comment.
