Aly Gony, Anushka Sen Celebrate UG Wales Win for Royal Challengers Bangalore Achi-News

To celebrate the win, several celebrities took to their respective social media handles and congratulated the RCB Women’s team for winning the title.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women’s team led by cricketer Smriti Mandhana clinched the 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL) title on Sunday by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 8 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. RCB finished their campaign with 4 wins out of 8 securing the third position in the points table. Fans are currently on cloud nine as RCB finally won their first ever title after a long wait of 16 years. To mark the win, several celebrities took to their respective social media handles and congratulated the RCB Women’s team for winning the title.

Television actor and former Bigg Boss contestant, Aly Goni took to his Instagram account and shared a video of the team’s winning moment on his stories which he captioned “Finally” followed by an emotional clapping of hands. Khatron Ke Khiladi fame Anushka Sen shared a picture of RCB captain Mandhana lifting the winner’s trophy and wrote “QUEEENNSSS 2024!!!” apart from them, several other celebrities congratulated RCB for winning first title.

Indian star cricketer and former RCB men’s captain Virat Kohli congratulated the RCB Women’s team for winning the title through a post-match video call. She also took to Instagram and shared a photo on her stories that she captioned, “Superwoman.” Current men’s RCB captain Faf Du Plesis also expressed his happiness as the women’s team won the trophy.

However, during the post-match conference Mandhana revealed that she could not hear anything Kohli said on video call as it was too loud but she will meet him soon.

Talking about the match, Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first but managed to win all out on 113 in 18.3 overs. DC openers Shaifali Verma and skipper Meg Lanning gave the team a powerful start with 64-0 in 43 balls but RCB bowlers Sheyanka Patil, Sophie Molineux, and Asha Shobhana helped the team bounce back and get the DC batsmen one out -by-one .

RCB instead chased down the target of 114 with three balls to spare. Skipper Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine’s contribution scores of more than 30 runs helped the team to seal victory.
