National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said there are some questions about Indian history that no one can point to, not even our critics. Second, continuity, that is, it continues continuously from the beginning, about 4000 to 5000 years ago, to the present day. The third is its vastness.

“Alexander reached the border of India only from Jhelum”
During his speech, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said that when we think about this span of thousands of years, the emerging narrative of the ongoing history in the vast region is that it was Alexander who discovered India. In fact he reached the Indian border only at Jhelum. After that he might not have been able to advance. William Jones, Judge of the High Court of Calcutta from 1746 to 1792, said that I found no mention of Alexander anywhere in Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit or local dialect literature.
