After receiving the information, Jharia MLA Purnima Neeraj Singh, who had gone to the monsoon session of the Assembly, reached the spot late at night from Ranchi and demanded compensation from the BCCL and outsourcing of the company’s management to the family of the deceased.
During the negotiations which lasted for hours, it was agreed to give compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the deceased’s wife Renu Kumari, education expenses of the deceased’s dependent children and employment for one dependent. During this period a large number of people were present at the police station site. Speaking to the media, Jharia MLA Purnima Neeraj Singh raised questions on the working style of Sushi Dev Prabha Outsourcing and accused the company of working under the pressure of any political party.
