The Mahila Thana Police have arrested the husband of District Panchayat No. 1 Ward member and Mahila Congress District President on charges of raping a girl on the pretext of marriage. Accused Lakshminarayan Thakur has been arrested for raping a 21-year-old girl.

The victim told the police in her complaint that she works as a labourer. She has been working as a laborer in the field of accused Lakshminarayan for the last three years. During this time the two began to like each other. In the year 2022, the accused told the victim ‘I like you, I will marry you’.
After that, one day, having an opportunity, the accused tried to force himself on the girl and threatened to kill her if she told this to anyone. She was scared by this. After that the accused had sexual relations with the victim several times without her consent. The victim said that the accused called her to meet her in Tappar on the afternoon of September 1 and that he wanted to have sex with her again. The victim did not tell anyone because of fear.
However, on October 2, he narrated his ordeal to his mother and brother. After that she filed a case of rape against the accused. Mahila police station in-charge Anjana Patil said on the victim’s complaint, a case of rape has been registered against the accused and he is being arrested and produced in court.
