GUWAHATI: The Arya Vidyapeeth College Student Union Election 2024 has concluded with the All Assam Students Union (AASU) securing a dominant victory by winning 8 out of the 16 posts available.

Madhurjya Kumar Nath was elected General Secretary, while Pragya Gogoi was given the post of Assistant General Secretary. Both are from AASU. The other key posts secured by AASU include Debashish Sarnia as Debate Secretary, Rahul Das as Culture Secretary, Bishnu Bikash Borua as Fine Arts Secretary, Bishal Jyoti Bhardwaj as Magazine Secretary, Kamal Chhetri as Grand Games Secretary, and Ali Haider Laskar as Boys Common Room Secretary.
The position of president was won by Bhaswati Goswami, who ran independently, along with Rashmita Devi who was elected vice president. Three positions remain vacant, including the general sports secretary, the small games secretary and the girls’ common room secretary.
Arya Nandan Kakutty, of ABVP, won the post of literature secretary, while Athanu Sarkar was elected as the gymnasium secretary.
