A young man died due to drowning in Shambhu Dhara of Amarkantak. On Saturday, among the five youths who had come to visit Amarkantak, one youth drowned while bathing in the Shambhu Dhara Dam, and died because of that. According to the information, 26-year-old Gajendra Patel, father of Ramcharan Patel, resident of Dhiraul village and TVS Anuppur showroom operator, had gone to Amarkantak on Saturday morning with his friends Manish, Pawan, Rajesh and Alok.
Reached Shambhudhara picnic spot at 2 pm, where some friends were having food. Some bathed in Shambhu Dhara. Meanwhile, Gajendra Patel also jumped into the reservoir, but could not get out of the reservoir. The friends searched for some time. But he was nowhere to be found. After this the friends informed the police.

On information, Pushprajgarh SDM, Amarkantak Naib Tehsildar Kaushalendra Mishra, Forest Department team, Amarkantak Police are searching for the youth.
Officer-in-charge of the Regional Home Guard, JP Uike, said SDRF teams are arriving. The team of divers will search for Gajendra Patel in the evening itself. The police have increased security.
