As soon as the NDRF, Mumbai Police, Fire Department and Municipal teams got the information about the accident in Shahbaz village, they rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. Shahbaz Village is located in Belapur CBD area of ​​Navi Mumbai. It is known that the name of the building is ‘Indira Niwas’. This building had a ground and 3 floors. The fire brigade said the incident happened at 4:35am today (Saturday, July 27). It is suspected that two people were trapped under the debris in this accident.

Commenting on this, Navi Mumbai Metropolitan Corporation Commissioner Kailas Shinde said, ‘This is a G+3 building. Shahbaz village comes under Belapur ward. There were 13 flats in the building. Two people have been rescued and two are believed to be trapped. NDRF teams are on the spot. A rescue operation is underway. The two who were rescued have been admitted to the hospital and their condition is stable, Kailas Shinde told reporters.

‘This is a 10-year-old building. An investigation is underway. Action will be taken against the owner of the building, said the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Navi Mumbai. Notably, the incident comes a week after an 80-year-old woman died after part of the balcony of a four-storey residential building collapsed in south Mumbai.
