ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) The vaccination campaign to prevent polio has started across Pakistan, more than 8 million children under the age of five will be vaccinated in 26 districts of the country.
After polio cases were reported in Dera Bugti and Chaman and polio virus was found in sewage samples from several districts, a special anti-polio campaign is being conducted in 11 districts of Balochistan, 7 districts of Sindh and 5 district in Punjab.

The Federal Secretary for Health Iftikhar Ali Shilwani urged the parents to give compulsory polio vaccinations to their children. During Ramadan, polio teams are sent from door to door so that children are vaccinated against polio.
While the Coordinator of the National Emergency Operations Center Dr. Shahzad Baig that so far 71 environmental samples have been identified with polio virus (WPV1), most of them are from Balochistan and Sindh, while in Balochistan the virus has killed 2 children for life. .
