Bandamunda Navratri festival starts from Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Special worship of Maa Durga is done at various places in the region including the railway town of Bandamunda. During this period enthusiasm is evident among the followers. Mother is praised. During Navratri, which began on Tuesday, all the devotees will remain immersed in the worship of Goddess Durga for the next eight days. During this, Bandamunda’s dance teacher Sandeep Das brought out a magnificent Kalash Shuba Yatra at various levels on the occasion of Navratri. The Kalash Yatra started from D Sector Gundichapalli, went to the pool at Dumarta, filled the Kalash with water and reached back to Gundichapalli. A large number of devotees participated in this Kalash Yatra. A large number of people participated in the first day of worshiping the goddess. During this period, the administrative officials seemed prepared about the security arrangements.
