A fisherman drowned while fishing in the Barsalpur Dharni Patti Ghat of the Ganga River passing through Mohanpur Police Station area in Samastipur District. The fisherman has been identified as Vishwanath Sahni (60), a resident of Dharani Patti East Ward 4 Russelpur.

Regarding the incident, it was reported that Vishwanath Sakhani used to make a living from fishing for a long time. At around 15:00 he was fishing with other members of his family and fell into the river after balancing himself. Due to high water level he drowned in the river. When people around him arrived, he drowned.
