An example is a mosque made of precious Diar wood in Bagh Dherai area of Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The rare Diar wood used in the construction of the mosque and the beautiful carvings made on it is a beautiful masterpiece of architecture.

Interestingly, the mosque has been built in such a way that not a single nail has been used and there is not a pillar in the entire mosque.

The doors and walls of the mosque, including the minbar, ceiling and chandelier are made of precious Diyar wood and took 8 years to complete its construction.

Regarding the construction of the mosque, the elders of the area say that the work of building the mosque started in 2001 and it was completed in 2008. During the hand engraving it is a witness to the skill of the craftsmen.

Muhammad Umar, the administrator of this mosque, told Geo News that the carving work was done by artisans from Chiniot and Risalpur apart from Swat.

He also said that people come from far and wide in this mosque in the month of Ramadan and there is a lot of haste.
