A magnitude 6.9 earthquake has struck northern Papua New Guinea, the German Geosciences Research Center said.
Sunday’s earthquake was at a depth of 10km in East Sepik province. He had indicated that the size was initially 6.6.
The Australian Joint Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat to Australia’s mainland, islands or territories.
