But many times, under the guise of Holi, women misbehave and bad deeds are committed in the name of applying colours.

Many cases of molestation of women occur on Holi day. Even the ones the girls don’t know, don’t miss any opportunity to apply color forcefully and touch the body here and there.
Last year, hoodlums misbehaved with a Japanese woman in Paharganj, Delhi. The woman had come to India to watch the Holi festival.
Young boys grabbed him, painted him, and broke eggs on his head. The woman somehow managed to get out of their clutches. When the video related to this incident went viral, the police caught all the hoodlums.
Strict security arrangements have been made in Delhi University in connection with Holi.
A balloon filled with semen thrown at women
In 2018, a Delhi University student shared on social media that she had gone to Amar Colony Market for lunch with her friend. She was returning from there by rickshaw when someone threw a balloon and hit her.
After the balloon bursts, spread liquid on the clothes. When he got home, he discovered that liquid semen had been spread on the clothes.
Many other girls from Delhi University complained that they too had to face similar problems during Holi. To deal with such incidents, the Delhi University administration has to stay in alert mode every year on Holi.
This time Holi was on March 25. Delhi University had created a joint control room for North and South campus.
Several steps have been taken for the safety of students and staff on the UK campus, hostels and colleges. Arrangements have been made for 24 hour patrolling of the campus regarding Holi.
During Holi, roads and streets were for men, women were confined to their homes.
Events such as throwing colours, spreading mud, throwing eggs at strangers from the roof of the house are common during Holi.
Asha, who lives in Laxmi Nagar, Delhi, works as a domestic help. They have to go to many houses to work.
Once on the day of Holi, when she was returning from work, an unknown person caught her from behind and used color forcefully. Despite protests, he touched the body inappropriately. After this incident, he does not leave the house during Holi.
Dr Ameer Sultana, Professor of Punjab University, says that Holi is a communal festival where people celebrate the festival together.
However, it is true that people who create ruckus during Holi sometimes cross their limits. Men are seen in the streets while women are confined to their homes.
In a way, during Holi, men are allowed to live on the streets. The important thing is that they are not alone but in groups. Because of being in a group, incidents of teasing, forcefully applying color and touching women’s bodies increase.
Delhi Police has issued an advisory on drunk driving.
Drunk people make Holi colorful
Holi was celebrated in Delhi last year on March 8 ie Women’s Day. A week before Holi, the people of Delhi bought liquor worth Rs 238 crore. 1 crore 13 lakh bottles of liquor were sold. On March 6, 2023 alone, 26 lakh liquor bottles were sold in Delhi.
In Prayagraj, 650 km from Delhi, liquor worth Rs 13 crore was sold during the three days of Holi, of which liquor worth Rs 9 crore was sold in rural areas.
On the occasion of Holi in Rajasthan, people drank liquor worth Rs 113 crore. This was the situation in many cities of the country.
Alcohol is a major cause of crime during Holi. Dr Ameer Sultana says that the color of Holi gets discolored due to alcohol consumption, cannabis consumption and other intoxications. On Holi day, incidents like molestation and rape happen because of alcohol.
Cases of drunk driving are common on Holi day. During Holi in Mumbai, 11,000 challans were issued for traffic violations.
While 120 people were caught for drunk driving.
7,643 challans were issued on Holi in Delhi, of which 559 were caught driving under the influence of alcohol. The main cause of road accidents during Holi is drink driving.
Fights over the consumption of alcohol are common on Holi. Despite prohibition in Bihar, there are many incidents of people fighting after consuming alcohol.
In 2021, 41 people died in Bihar on Holi. Many people see Holi as an opportunity to vent animosity to both sides.
Girls face embarrassment because of vulgar and obscene songs
Bhojpuri songs like ‘Bhej Jala Lahanga’, ‘Devar Par Rahab Holi Me’, ‘Na A Jija 2.0’, ‘Choliya Chot Lail A Pahuna’, ‘Roaming Me Sharir Ba’, ‘Holi Me God Lage Devra’ this time too YouTube But we’ll see.
Many of these songs claim to have several million views. Shilpi Raj and Arvind Akela’s song ‘Devar Par Rehab Holi Mein’ has received 40 million views. Each such song gets several million views.
During Holi, these songs are played openly by DJs on squares and intersections where only women’s bodies are targeted.
Dr Sultana says many relatives are embarrassed on the occasion of Holi. The relationship between brother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law is suspended. Bhojpuri songs are famous for such vulgar and obscene songs. These are porn songs.
Bihar-based filmmaker Abhinav Thakur says incidents like molestation, indecency with women, dirty deeds are common during Holi, but songs shame women. A few days before Holi, you will hear such vulgar songs in cars and buses.
