Pakistan’s 3-0 loss against Jordan dented the Shaheens’ chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as the former lost three consecutive matches during the second round of Asian qualifiers.

Pakistan are set to be eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after losing to Jordan at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad on Thursday.

Jordan’s star player, Musa Al-Taamari, scored a strike while Ali Olwan also scored a goal during the match against Pakistan.

It looked like the floodgates would open after Musa and Ali gave Jordan a 2-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes but Pakistan’s defense held firm and ensured they didn’t completely hammer away at the hands of a round Asia Cup final.

In Group G of the Asian qualifiers, Jordan is in third place with four points. Meanwhile, winless Pakistan remain at the bottom after losing three matches out of three.

Pakistan will now travel to Jordan for the away match on March 26 this month.

The Shaheens need to win their remaining three matches, which include matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan, to stay in the hunt for the World Cup.
