Despite winning against Kuwait in the first match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, India had to lose to Qatar. The 56-year-old coach has a contract with the All India Football Association until 2026. But Stimach made it clear that he was not thinking of a deal.
India’s ranking in FIFA ranking is 117th. Afghanistan is far behind at number 158. But despite this, the Blue Tigers failed to defeat Afghanistan in the light of Saudi Arabia. About which Stimach said, “We are quite disappointed with the result of the first game. It’s hard to play well after a long journey. Afghanistan has also improved a lot. Sites prove nothing. Stimach has been in charge of the Indian team since 2019. Sunil Chhetri won the SAFF Cup, Intercontinental Trophy under him.
