Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Punjab Kings by 4 wickets thanks to Virat Kohli’s good innings. Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis took the win and elected to bowl first at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.
After losing the toss and batting Shikhar Dhawan (45), Prabhsimran Singh (25), Jitesh Sharma (27), Sam Curran (23) scored 176 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets. Glenn Maxwell and Mohammad Siraj took two wickets each.
In response, Virat Kohli (77 from 49 balls), Rajat Patidar (18) went ahead with Bangalore’s batting. They lost a few wickets and were under pressure. But in the end Dinesh Karthik’s unbeaten 28 and Mohipal Lomro’s unbeaten 17 runs won the match for the Royal Challengers. Kohli won by 4 wickets with 4 balls to spare.
