LAHORE: The Punjab government has issued directives to start admissions for first and third year students before matriculation and intermediate results are announced.
This is a significant departure from previous practices, as students can now apply for admission to government colleges even before their exam results are declared.
The objective behind this decision is to give students enough time to plan their educational paths without the added pressure of waiting for exam results. According to the official notification, Department of Public Education (DPI) colleges have already started the admission process for first year and third year students, considering their academic performance in previous years.
In particular, admissions for the first year will be based on Class 9 results, while admissions for the third year will take into account performance in the first year. This proactive approach not only streamlines the admissions process but also empowers students to make informed decisions about their future academic endeavors.
