Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has a special place in IPL. Dhawan is one of the very few players who has excelled consistently since 2008. So far he has scored more than 6000 runs in more than 200 hundred matches. These include two centuries and 50 half centuries. Gabbar, who has written many records to his name in the IPL.

He created a record as the first player to hit 900 fours in IPL history. Dhawan is followed by Team India star batsman Virat Kohli with 878 fours. Warner (877) and Rohit (811) stood in three and four positions respectively.
Shikhar, who had 897 fours before this match, hit 5 fours in this match. This took his current tally from four IPLs to 902. The star opener faced 37 balls and got out after scoring 45 runs. With Dhawan excelling, Punjab are now 128 for the loss of 4 wickets in 15 overs.
Shikhar Dhawan became the first batsman in the history of the IPL to smash 900 boundaries.
