There is currently no respite for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor policy scam. On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court dismissed Arvind Kejriwal’s petition challenging his arrest. Now Kejriwal has moved the Supreme Court. However, the Supreme Court refused to hear the matter urgently. The court says that the petition cannot be heard before Monday.

Earlier in the court, the Enforcement Directorate strongly opposed the granting of bail to Arvind Kejriwal. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared on behalf of Kejriwal and sought leniency. In this context of the Lok Sabha elections, Singhvi also raised questions about the timing of the AAP leader’s arrest. However, the court rejected all the claims.

Tell us what were Kejriwal’s arguments in the Supreme Court regarding the Lok Sabha elections? Why did these arguments not work in front of the court? What did the court say about the arrest before the elections?
