The Election Commission oversees the Lok Sabha elections. He is constantly trying to ensure that the elections this time will be peaceful and transparent. In this sequence, the committee on Wednesday ordered to provide identification of the printer and publisher on election-related printed material, including hoardings to ensure accountability and transparency in the election process.

That’s why the decision was made

The election official says the decision was taken after bills without the identity of the printer or publisher were seen in storage places under the control of municipal corporation officials.

The “Am Adami” party also recently appealed to the election committee on this issue. The Election Commission cited Section 127A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Let us tell you that Section 127A prohibits the printing or publication of election leaflets, posters, placards or banners without showing the name and address of the printer and publisher.

In the announcement published by the commission, it was stated that it is important to identify the advertisers because if money is spent then information can be obtained about it. If any violation of the code of conduct is found during the election campaign, then action can be taken.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar also recently recited a couplet to emphasize the point that misinformation must be curbed. He described misinformation as a bubble that bursts when touched.

The statement said, “With this intent, the Commission has held accountable printers, publishers, licensees or contractors of municipal local bodies that lease space for the posting of political advertisements.”
