The accused who kidnapped and murdered an engineering student in Pune last month were loaded with debt and wanted to make quick money and that is why they chose the path of crime. Pune police revealed this. On March 30, engineering student Bhagyashree Sood (22) was abducted from Wiman Nagar by her university mates Shivam Phulawale, Suresh Indure and Sagar Jadhav. The three strangled the student to death and buried her body on the outskirts of Ahmadnagar.

After the murder, the accused demanded a ransom of Rs 9 lakh from the victim’s family. The family complained about it to the police. The police detained the three defendants on the basis of suspicion, and after careful interrogation all three confessed to their crime. The police found the student’s body at the behest of the accused. At this point, all three defendants are in police custody until April 15.
