A 55-year-old man raped a girl with mental retardation in a village in the area of ​​Lakhoud police station in Jamui. The girl was pregnant for four months. The matter came to light when two days ago a 55-year-old man together with a girl with mental retardation were caught red-handed by the villagers. Although an attempt was made to resolve the matter within the panchayat, it was unsuccessful. The matter reached the police station from the village on Wednesday. The police then completed the paper process and on Wednesday afternoon brought the girl to the Jamui court to record her statement under section 164, where the police will take further steps as directed by the court. The father of the victim girl said that due to the absence of his wife, he lives at home with his daughter. Two days ago, the villagers caught the neighbor raped in a bush located in the village’s pond. The investigation revealed that the man had raped their mentally retarded daughter for several months. However, the police are busy investigating the incident. Lachwad police station chief Rakesh Kumar said that an incident of rape of a girl was carried out. The accused has been identified. Raids are conducted in possible places for his arrest. Soon the said accused will be arrested. For this purpose, a team was established which collects information about the aforementioned defendant.
