Qatar Fund keen to increase footprint in Pakistan’s power, housing sectors Achi-News

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A delegation of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) led by Khalifa bin Jassem Al-Kuwari, CEO of QFFD, called on Ahad Khan Cheema, the Minister of Economic Affairs, at the PM House on Saturday.

The minister welcomed the CEO, QFFD, and appreciated the role of Qatar and QFFD in the country’s development and the long-standing relationship between the two countries. He congratulated Al-Kuwari on receiving the Civil Award given to him by the President of Pakistan in recognition of his service to Pakistan. He expressed his gratitude to Qatar for mobilizing the international support for those affected by the 2022 floods by pledging US$ 25.00 million.

Mr Al-Kuwari congratulated the minister on Pakistan Day and thanked the government of Pakistan for presenting the Civilian Award. The minister highlighted the priority of GoP to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in developing mega projects in the water sector.

Al-Kuwari expressed his interest in increasing QFFD’s footprint in the power generation and housing sectors in Pakistan. Both sides will further enhance bilateral cooperation by initiating technical level discussions. The minister appreciated QFFD’s role and support for Pakistan at a very challenging time. He assured that he would further strengthen the relationship with QFFD in the future. Al-Kuwari said QFFD remains committed to supporting Pakistan in its journey towards recovery and prosperity through climate resilient infrastructure.
