The plane crashed in the Hindu Kush mountains in Badakhshan on the northeastern border of Afghanistan. Russian aviation authorities said the plane was a chartered ambulance flight.
The flight was a 1978 French Dassault Falcon 10 from India via Uzbekistan to Moscow. It is known that there were no Indians on board the plane that crashed in Badakhshan, northeast of Afghanistan.
