Islamabad: Senior politician Mushid Hussain has said that Pakistan is heading towards a crisis as the country is facing internal instability along with an unsustainable foreign policy, ARY News reported.
“Foreign policy is somewhat in crisis as we have fallen into quarrels with three of our neighbors in the last five years. China is also not happy with terrorism in the country and their confidence has taken a hit,” he said during an appearance on the ARY news program “news“.
Pakistan has been embroiled in quarrels with Iran and Afghanistan in recent times, he added.
Recalling his previous statement about “regional reset”, Moshid Hussain said that he called for improved relations with the neighbors.
According to the senior politician, Pakistan will have to improve its economy along with its foreign policy affairs.
On China-Pakistan relations, he said that as many as 13 Chinese citizens have been killed in six attacks over the past five years. The government has failed to deliver on its promise to provide foolproof security to Chinese citizens, he added.
Emphasizing the formation of a system to ensure security and peace in the country, he said that attacks on Chinese citizens raise serious questions about China’s trust in Pakistan.
Moshid Hussain said that the country is in a war-like situation on the security, economic and political fronts despite having significant geopolitical importance in the region.
On the internal political level, he said that the internal struggle continued after the general elections held on February 8 this year.
The senior politician also mentioned the letter of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges, saying that the letter has further aggravated the instability in the country.
Meanwhile, he blamed the ruling elite for the ills facing Pakistan. He urged the government to provide relief to the masses after being elected to power instead of “only working for families”.
