A two-month-old son (Naman) of a couple returning by Malwa Express after visiting Veshnondevi was stolen by someone in the middle of the night. The incident happened between 11pm and 2.30am on April 6. When the couple woke up early in the morning and did not find the child on the seat, a commotion broke out in the train. The incident came to light when the train was running between Gwalior-Dabra. When the child’s mother’s condition worsened, the family members landed in Jhansi and took her home first and after returning they reached the GRP police station and reported the matter. When the police were considering action, it emerged that a couple had handed over a two-month-old child to the GRP at the Indore station. The couple said they found him in Malwa Express. After receiving information about the child being found in Indore, the parents arrived there to pick him up. The police are investigating why the robbers left the child on the train. It is feared that after the uproar of stealing children and seeing RPF soldiers, the accused may have left the child there.
