Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced to start Air Ambulance Service and declared Hayatabad area of ​​Peshawar as Healthcare City.

Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur chaired the meeting of the Department of Health at the Prime Minister’s House, where the decisions were made, indicating a proactive approach to improving healthcare infrastructure and access.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Gandapur directed the concerned authorities to take steps to start the Air Ambulance Service within the next four months. In addition, plans to set up an emergency motorcycle response unit with essential medical facilities in densely populated areas of the state were also shared.

In addition, a Health Information and Service Delivery Unit will be established to ensure that quality treatment is provided in government hospitals.

One of the key points of the health care reform included the introduction of an active health screening program for seniors aged 65 and over. Under this programme, free check-up facility will be available in government hospitals every three months.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of improving health care facilities on the ground, directing the authorities to provide ultrasound, operation theater and gynecology services in primary health centers and rural health centers.

Furthermore, he emphasized the need to ensure that all relevant staff, including doctors, are available 24 hours a day in these healthcare facilities.

Gandapur also ordered the preparation of a new integrated health policy for the state within a month. The policy is expected to outline strategic objectives and action plans to address various healthcare challenges and improve service delivery across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
