The metro office warned that some of the coastal routes may be affected by spray or large waves.
There may also be delays in road transport, air trains and ferries.
The yellow warning for winds is in place from 9pm today until 9am on Tuesday.
In addition, according to the Environmental Quality Agency, a flood warning has been issued for tonight and Tuesday morning.
The River Eichen is expected to flood, with an ‘act now’ warning on the estuary.
Areas affected include Woodmill Lane and St Denys, with the river set to burst its banks at Riverside Park.
