The Springburn and Robroyston councilor also liked a tweet referring to the Prime Minister as “Humza Hamas.”

In a further development, it has also emerged that she liked a tweet falsely claiming that Humza Yousaf had given a million pounds of taxpayers’ money to Hamas and another calling him the “Pakistani prime minister of Scotland.”

The Herald:

The Herald can also reveal that one of Councilor Dempsey’s fellow Labor councilors has accused her of bullying.

We have also seen a 2022 paper presented to the Labor group on the council, in which Cllr Dempsey claimed that the main options available to working class people to cope with the cost of living crisis would be benefit fraud , drug dealing and prostitution.

Councilor Dempsey’s report, entitled “Help Action against poverty”, aimed to “explore solutions” and ways councilors could support constituents through the cost of living crisis.

In one section, under the heading, “Who will cope?” Councilor Dempsey wrote: “The working class will drown!!

“The only supporting options available to them are crime such as drug dealing, committing theft and fraud, payday loans, moneylenders, and prostitution.”

The Herald:

An SNP source said: “This paper shows that Councilor Dempsey’s attitudes and behavior were clear and obvious from day one. Not only has the leadership of the Labor group been completely comfortable with this, they seem to have nurtured it enthusiastically.

“Whether it’s because of personal connections or a specific vote they’re after, only they can answer.

“And while it is not the place of the SNP to tell Labor how to run its internal affairs, it is up to us to raise our voice on the attitudes of someone who represents working class and diverse communities in this city. If the group leaders can’t act on this, then maybe Anas Sarwar or Keir Starmer should.”

Councilor Dempsey is the founder and service manager of Glasgow’s No.1 Baby and Family Support Service, a charity which distributes clothes, toys and other goods to families in poverty. He did not respond to requests for comment.

A spokesman for the Labor Party said: “The Labor Party takes all complaints seriously.

“They are being fully investigated in accordance with our rules and procedures, and any appropriate action is being taken.”

It is understood that Councilor Dempsey has been suspended pending the outcome of any investigation.

Earlier she posted a video of her charity helping asylum seekers.

He said this contradicted the “attempt narrative,” adding: “Matter closed now and, back to work! Some of us take ours quite seriously.”

Councilor Dempsey was contacted for comments.
