A mental health clinic in Halifax is receiving $425,000 to grow its team and offer more services.
According to a provincial government news release, the People’s Counseling Clinic, which offers free mental health counseling to underserved and marginalized communities, will receive the funding through a grant from the Office Addiction and Mental Health.
The clinic will use the grant to add two new full-time members of staff and expand its services, which include counseling for:
- sexual behavior problems
- complex trauma
- abusive patterns in relationships
- sexual and intimate partner victimization
- attachment and development
- use of violence in relationships
