Bahawalpur: The price of chicken meat in Bahawalpur has risen to Rs 680 per kg ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Chicken meat was sold at Rs 680 per kg on Monday and Rs 619 per kg on Sunday. Shop owners in the business of selling chicken meat told this agency that the price of chicken meat is likely to rise further on Eid-ul-Fitr.
“Wholesale poultry suppliers have increased the price of chicken meat in the markets to earn more money during the days of Eid,” said a shopkeeper who deals in selling chicken meat.

Beef is also sold for 900 to 1100 rupees per kg while mutton is sold for 1800 to 2000 rupees. It is worth noting here that tomato, which was sold at Rs 100 per kg a few days ago, reached Rs 200 per kg two days before Eid-ul-Fitr. The price is likely to drop on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
