The Central Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued summons to three Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders for questioning in the Hoftinger blast case. The three TMC leaders have been asked to appear at the NIA office on Monday, i.e. today.

NIA summons three TMC leaders

NIA called for investigation three TMC leaders Manab Kumar Karaya, Subir Maiti and Naba Kumar Ponda. Speaking to the media, an official said: “We have issued summons to three TMC leaders for questioning in our office on Monday.”

NIA also issued summons to the three leaders last week but they did not appear before the NIA officials. The two arrested TMC leaders are not cooperating with the investigation, the official said.

NIA officers were attacked

Let us inform that the NIA team has gone to East Midnapore on Saturday to investigate the 2022 Hoftinger blast case. There the mob attacked the NIA officers. In this incident, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, accused the investigating officers of attacking the villagers. The NIA said that one of its officers was injured in this attack, while vehicles were also damaged.

The attack on the NIA officials happened three months after the attack on senior officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Sandeshakhli. During the raid on TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh’s residence in Sandashkhali, ED officials were attacked by the TMC leader’s supporters.
