Archaeological scientists have made an important discovery in Kutch, Gujarat. In fact, remnants of the Arab civilization more than 5000 years old have been found in Kutch. In 2018, a team of archeological scientists discovered a cemetery with 500 graves near the village of Jonah Hatiya in Kutch. This cemetery helped in the discovery of the remains of a five-thousand-year-old settlement from the Harappan period.

A clue was found from a grave found in 2018

Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma, Dr. Subhash Bhandari, Head of the Department of Archeology at the University of Kutch, said that “During the excavation in 2018, a mass grave was found near the village of Juna Khatiya. After the discovery of this tomb, the question arose as to where the people buried here lived. This question helped in the discovery of the settlement of the Harappan period. Now a team of archaeologists discovered the remains of a settlement from the Harpan period in the Fata Beit area, about one and a half kilometers from the cemetery.

The Harappan period settlement that was found is estimated to be 5700 years old and it was located on a hill. A river used to flow behind this hill. In the excavation of Tel Giva, pots and small and large vessels from the Harappan period were also found. Remains of many precious stones were also found in the excavation. It is believed that jewelry was made from these stones and jewelry was traded in this colony.

The people who live here used to raise animals.

During the excavation, a team of archaeologists also found remains of cows and goats, on the basis of which they believe that the people living here used to engage in animal husbandry. Human skeletons were also found at the cemetery site. A team from the University of Kerala is also excavating in Kutch. Quoting Rajesh SV, a professor at the University of Kerala and co-director of this project, media reports said that remains of other human settlements can also be found nearby. He says there could be many settlements here. Professor Abhayan GS, project director and head of the Department of Archeology, University of Kerala, said that it is possible that due to the high population, people spread out into different settlements. He expressed concern that due to being on a hill, many buildings may have been destroyed over time.
