Kerala News Updates Live: As part of the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, a constitutional defense rally led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be held in Malappuram today. The organizers estimate that thousands will join in the rally which will start at 10 in the morning. Leaders of various religious communities will also share the stage with the Prime Minister at the closing stage of the rally.
Representatives of Muslim organizations other than Jamaat-e-Islami have been invited to the meeting as part of the rally. The Rally to Protect the Constitution is being organized in five regions under the leadership of the Prime Minister. In this regard, the Kozhikode rally was held on March 22. In his Kozhikode speech, the Prime Minister criticized the BJP, the central government and the Congress in harsh language. At the Kozhikode rally, the Prime Minister said that the purpose of CAA is to make citizenship of Muslims who have migrated to India illegal.
