There is an ongoing tussle in Maharashtra politics. Meanwhile, Eknath Khadsa, who joined Abhivijit after breaking his 40-year rule, is once again joining the BJP. Khadsa said on Saturday that he will join his parents’ party next week. Khadsa left the party and joined the undivided Nationalist Congress party about three years ago amid differences with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership in Maharashtra. Khadsa said on Saturday that he will join his mother’s party in Delhi next week. Khadsa, who was a minister in the previous Devendra Fadnavis government, resigned as minister in 2016 over a land deal issue. After a long wait, the undivided Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar made him its member. Khadsa said he was forced to leave the party due to some developments.

He is currently a member of the Legislative Council of NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). Khadsa (71), who was once among the top leaders of the BJP in Maharashtra, told PTI, “I am coming back to the BJP. I have approached the BJP central leadership and expressed my desire to come back to the party. I will formally join the BJP in Delhi next week.

Refused to run in the elections against the bride

According to media reports, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar wanted to pit Legislative Council member Ekanth Khadsa from Raver seat against his daughter-in-law Raksha Khadsa, which he rejected. With the arrival of Khadse, BJP will be strengthened in North Maharashtra, while it will be a big blow for Sharad Pawar.

NCP was torn in two last year

There was a major upheaval in Maharashtra politics in July 2023 when Ajit Pawar rebelled against NCP. After the split in the party, the uncle and nephew faced off for control of the NCP. Ajit Pawar’s faction approached the Election Commission. At the same time, the Sharad Pawar camp also presented its positions in the Election Commission. The election committee checked the documents and heard the claims of both sides. The Election Commission settled the dispute in the NCP and ruled in favor of the faction led by Ajit Pawar. Now NCP’s name and election symbol ‘Ghari’ will remain with Ajit Pawar.
